In the first episode, a victim is poisoned in broad daylight in a fiacre with a poison believed to have killed Alexei Navalny.

Still from the series
In mid-April, a new season of the legendary 90s series premiered. It is titled "Inspector Rex. Vienna Calling".
The first season promises six episodes, with two already presented, and one more to be added each week.
In the mid-1990s, when the first season aired, the streets of Belarusian towns and villages emptied. Schoolchildren and students dropped their activities and rushed home to watch television.
The first episode of the new season begins as usual. The Vienna police commissioner and his partner (or vice versa, Rex with his partner?) get involved in a case.
Then comes the familiar intro: St. Stephen's Cathedral, Rex taking a burger from the main character's partner, his signature jump, and a paw autograph to the same music.
In the first episode, a victim with a persecution complex (who introduces himself to everyone as Jan Fleming) is killed in the middle of Vienna with the poison that killed Alexei Navalny – the poison of a South American poison dart frog. The poison was simply applied to his neck, and the man didn't even have time to pay for the ride.
Rex (his full name is Reginald von Ravenhorst the Eighth) and Inspector Max Steiner take on the case.

Still from the series
Everything is like in the previous films. Rex runs deftly, can sniff out a bag of money. And also his signature jump with a paw strike to the chest.
What's new?

Inspector Steiner. Still from the series
The main character — Max Steiner (actor Maximilian Bruckner) — suddenly has an adult daughter return from Paraguay. A conflict between parents and children begins. The always-busy Steiner has no time for his daughter.
Also, new technologies and trends of recent years. The suspected criminal is believed to be assembling a bomb. How so? Steiner's partner says that he probably watched a video on YouTube.
And a poison dart frog can be ordered on the dark web for 60 euros.
"Inspector Rex" first aired in 1994. In the first seasons, Rex assisted Inspector Richard Moser (actor Tobias Moretti), then after his death, Alexander Brandtner (actor Gedeon Burkhard) became the main character, followed by Marc Hoffmann. After 10 seasons, the series was moved to Rome for three seasons. It was then completely cancelled. In autumn 2024, it was announced that the series would be revived.
