"Forgive me, researchers, for everything." Fyodar Paulyuchenka responded to Uladzislau Chakhavich

Fyodar Paulyuchenka and Alyaksandr Atroshchankau, hosts of the talk show "Sasha, what are you talking about," were outraged by the position of researchers who criticized the "Cyberpartisans" action to hack the National Library website. Architect Uladzislau Chakhavich ridiculed them for this on his Facebook page, which Fyodar Paulyuchenka, in turn, also did not ignore .

Fyodar Paulyuchenka explains his approach:

"It was difficult not to draw parallels with activists who wrote political graffiti on walls in Minsk, while concerned residents accused them of vandalism. I resolved this complex moral dilemma for myself a long time ago — in a country where political opponents are killed, walls can suffer. That's what we discussed on air.

In general, I find the logic that repressions in Belarus occur because Kalesnikava proposed to "peck" and Tsikhanouskaya dared to run for president instead of her husband to be very alien. I also dislike the slogan "Don't anger grandpa."

When I was "kicked out" of postgraduate studies in the early 2000s because I worked for "Charter'97", colleagues from the department told me: "Well, you understand everything." And one even wrote a denunciation. I didn't understand it then, and I don't understand it now. By the way, that's how my career as a researcher ended.

Let me repeat this simple thesis once again, and I very much hope that educated, reasonable people will understand me: the catalog was disabled and the National Library website was shut down by Higin and company, not by the "Cyberpartisans."

If Chakhavich and Besarab [scientist-chemist Siarhei Besarab, who in the comments to Chakhavich's post called Fyodar Paulyuchenka's reflections "savagery" - Ed.] find it convenient to vent their resentment and anger on me or the "Cyberpartisans", I will understand, but do not degrade yourselves with twisted logic trying to blame me for your problems.

I am writing this block for those who read Chakhavich's post. Mr. Chakhavich lied.

  • I did not use the word "researcher" to demean Belarusian speakers. The base text I had in front of me during the broadcast was written in Belarusian, and I couldn't immediately recall the Russian equivalent.
  • The unified state register of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, court schedules, court decisions on Pravo.by, and many other useful services are unavailable from abroad, but I have enough sense and conscience not to blame Ukraine and the "Cyberpartisans" for this. Many state websites closed after the start of the war due to attacks by Ukrainian hackers.
  • I have great respect for people of science. Forgive me, researchers, for everything, if any of you took our reflections personally. I only dislike fools. Our impolite words were addressed specifically to them."
