Young potatoes at an unbelievable price: what surprises at Komarovka during January frosts

Komarovka works in any weather. Even in winter, there's a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and more here. People are not deterred by -20°C frost. They actively shop both at the indoor market and the seasonal one. The latter, by the way, is also open — something is being sold, writes Tochka.by.

Winter Fruit Garden

Naturally, there are fewer fruits than before the New Year holidays. However, there is still a selection. At some stalls, even berries are sold. There are peaches, watermelons, strawberries, sweet cherries, blueberries.

There are also many citrus fruits. Oranges can be found at very pleasant prices — Br4.5–25 per kilo, lemons — Br4.9–30, tangerines — Br3.9–25.

Pineapples, however, cost Br10–40.

Grapes are also well-represented. The cheapest will sell for Br3.9, while expensive options go for Br30.

It's very advantageous to buy bananas, which are only Br2.9. Persimmons are sold in the range of Br4.9–25.

The selection of apples is not that large, and they cost Br4–6 per 1 kg. Pears are still scarce, prices — Br6.9–15.

Young Potatoes Have Arrived

Potatoes of various varieties are sold at Komarovka. The cheapest option costs Br0.99, more expensive — Br2.8.

Most interestingly: early potatoes from Azerbaijan have appeared on the market. The price might shock you — Br15 per kilo. It turns out to be 15 times more expensive than the cheapest root vegetable from the neighboring stall.

Onions cost Br1.99–3.5 per 1 kg, carrots — Br0.5–4, beets — Br0.99–4.

Tomatoes have become considerably more expensive. Simple tomatoes cost Br7.9 per 1 kg. And for enthusiasts, there are even options for Br65.

Things are better with cucumbers — they cost Br3.9–24.9 per 1 kg.

The selection of peppers is small. For a kilo, you will be asked for Br7.9 and up. Eggplants are also available — Br10.9–14.9.

The price of pickles has practically not changed since the end of December. At some sellers, you can find cheaper cucumbers — Br6 per 1 kg, but there are also expensive ones — for Br15. Sauerkraut costs Br8–12.

Regular greens will cost Br12–25 per kilo. There are almost no mushrooms left. Champignons are sold for Br9.5–12.
