A major chain of kitchenware and home goods stores is closing in Belarus
The VDOM chain of kitchenware and home goods stores is closing. An announcement appeared on the retailer's website stating that the online store has completely stopped accepting orders.
The company began closing its retail operations back in late spring, writes Office Life. On May 25, VDOM announced a sale with discounts of up to 70% on its social media. After this, mass closures of retail outlets began.
In August, one by one, stores ceased operations in Grodno in the Triniti shopping center (August 11), in Molodechno in the Sputnik shopping center (August 17), in Minsk on Prytytskaha Street, 97 (August 19), in Zhodino in the Elegant shopping center (August 24), in Gomel in the Mandarin Plaza shopping and entertainment center (August 26), and in Minsk on Dziarzhynski Avenue, 119 (August 27). On the last day of the month, August 31, the outlet in the capital's Titan shopping and entertainment center closed.
In September, the remaining outlets continued to close: in Gomel in the Karusel shopping center (September 2), in Babruysk in the Karusel shopping center (September 3), in Rechytsa in the Global Market shopping center (September 7), and in Vitebsk in the Trio shopping and entertainment center (September 9).
After this, on September 12, the chain announced a final price reduction of 70 to 90%. Currently, the only operating locations for the brand are stores in the capital's Spektr and Tivali shopping centers, with the latter outlet closing as early as September 23.
The brand has not announced the reasons for the closure on its social media or website.
