In Brest, a foreman and two drivers stole almost 200 tons of construction mix

In Brest, a court sentenced a foreman and two drivers who stole almost 200 tons of asphalt granulate. Details of the case were reported by the Brest region prosecutor's office.

Investigators found that in October 2025, a foreman from one of the district's commercial organizations conspired with drivers from a construction organization to jointly steal construction mix. They planned to sell the asphalt granulate to an acquaintance who wanted to use it for backfilling a plot.

The foreman instructed a third driver to load the material for removal. However, this driver was unaware that he was participating in the theft. To conceal the crime, the foreman entered false information into the documents and wrote off the asphalt granulate as material used during construction work.

For delivering the mix, the foreman and drivers received about 7,000 rubles, which they divided among themselves.

The court found all three guilty of theft committed by a group of persons through abuse of official powers (part 2 of article 210 of the Criminal Code of Belarus). Each was sentenced to three years of imprisonment and a fine of 300 basic units — 13,500 rubles as of September 2026.

The former foreman was also prohibited for five years from holding positions related to the performance of organizational, managerial, and administrative-economic duties.

All defendants had the execution of their main punishment deferred for two years in accordance with part 1 of article 77 of the Criminal Code of Belarus.
