Human rights defender and 2022 Nobel laureate Ales Bialiatski will participate today, September 3, in the panel "Defending Democracy in an Era of Rising Authoritarianism," writes "Viasna".

Nobel laureates from different years: journalist Maria Ressa (Philippines), politician Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia), and human rights defender Ales Bialiatski (Belarus)
The panel will begin with a keynote address, followed by a conversation between Nobel Peace Prize laureates and a Generation Z activist. Participants will discuss how to defend democratic values and human rights in the face of strengthening authoritarian regimes.
"Everyone has their own life story, but there is also much in common: the struggle for a more just world," Ales Bialiatski wrote on social media.
