A manual for children with hearing impairments will be released in Belarus

A teaching and learning manual for subject-practical instruction for children with hearing impairments has been developed in Belarus. It is expected to be published soon. Officials claim that similar developments are reportedly not yet available in other CIS countries.

By the new academic year, 23 new manuals for inclusive education have been prepared in Belarus. Among them are the textbook "Man and the World" and a mathematics course for blind first-graders. They are printed on polystyrene, allowing children to tactilely recognize volumetric images and diagrams.

New workbooks with enlarged fonts will also be prepared for schoolchildren with low vision.

As noted by Elena Rakhmanova, Head of the Methodological Support Department for Special Education at the Academy of Education of Belarus, such manuals contain not only educational material. They also help to develop the child's personality, forming civic, moral, and patriotic qualities.

Artificial intelligence is also used in the preparation of new editions. It helps to adapt texts and make visual information more understandable and accessible for children with special psychophysical developmental needs.

Currently, about 75% of children with special psychophysical developmental needs are educated in Belarus under integration conditions.
