In the agro-town of Novy Dvor, Minsk district, on August 25, a part of the fence on the bridge over the Svislach river collapsed. The structure was located on the pedestrian part and fell into the water. Fortunately, no one was nearby at the moment of the collapse, writes pristalica.by.

Local residents are concerned about the state of the bridge. They fear that more serious damage may begin after the fence collapsed. According to them, the damage occurred on the side that pedestrians use less frequently, but the opposite part of the bridge is also in poor condition.

The approaching school year causes particular concern. Children have to use this bridge to get to the public transport stop, as there is no other way across the river.

"Minskobldorstroy" explained that the condition of the bridge worsened partly due to intensive movement of cargo transport from the industrial zone of Minsk.
The repair of the bridge is already included in the plan for current repair of bridges in the Minsk region for the fourth quarter of 2026. Project documentation is currently being prepared by specialists from "Obldorproekt". Repairs are planned to begin on September 7.
Works will be carried out in two stages. The right and left parts of the bridge will be closed alternately to ensure pedestrian traffic. A traffic light will be installed to regulate traffic, operating in a reversible mode.

For now, the damaged pedestrian part is closed. Temporary fences and prohibitory signs have been installed there. Pedestrians are allowed to use the other half of the bridge.
