The Belarusian was detained by a group of Security Service of Ukraine officers based on a US request for his arrest as a person wanted for criminal liability for crimes related to participation in the dissemination of malicious advertisements used for cybercriminal activity. An arrest warrant was issued for him on June 10, 2025, by one of the district courts in the USA.

In America, the Belarusian citizen was charged under articles 371, 1343, 1349, and 3559(g) (conspiracy to commit wire fraud and computer fraud, as well as the frauds themselves). In the USA, the Belarusian citizen could face 5 to 20 years in prison. He is accused of offenses committed from October 2013 to April 2023.

The name of the detained Belarusian citizen has not been released.

At various times, several Belarusian citizens have been convicted, detained, or sought in America on similar charges:

  • Maksim Silnikaŭ (Silchanka) is under arrest in a New Jersey state prison awaiting the conclusion of his trial;
  • Pavel Dzmitrenka is serving a sentence in a federal prison in Texas — he was sentenced to 51 months of imprisonment. After that, he will be deported to Belarus;
  • Aliaksandr Klimenka was detained in Latvia and extradited to the USA in early 2024;
  • Uladzimir Kadaryja (also known as Andrei Kavalyoŭ, "Stalin", baxus) is in a pre-trial detention center in Belarus. He was detained in Kyrgyzstan and extradited to Belarus in March 2023;
  • Siarhei Dzenisenka is on an international wanted list; according to some information, he may be in Russia;
  • Ihar Turashaŭ is also at large, likely in Russia. Sanctions have been imposed against him, and a reward of 5 million dollars has been offered for assistance in his capture.
