Belarusians who came to Madrid for rapper Kanye West's concert accidentally met in the Prado Museum of Art. The fascinating story was told by art critic Nikita Monich.
American rapper Kanye West (Ye), who in recent years is more known for scandalous anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi statements, performed in Madrid on July 30. Belarusians also came to the concert. For some of them, the trip was memorable not only for the musician's performance, but also for an unexpected meeting in the Prado Museum. The story was told on social media by art critic Nikita Monich.
It all started with an excursion for one Belarusian who came to Madrid for the American rapper's concert.
"There's free time, so Prado in the morning, concert in the evening," — says Nikita.
During the exhibition tour, it turned out that his guest's friends, who also came to Madrid for the concert, were in the same museum:
"We were walking with him, we reached the Mona Lisa, our local one here, and it turns out that his friends/acquaintances also came to the concert and are here, in the Prado, because Belarusians are cultured, they go to the Prado. And there were three of us."
However, the story didn't end there.
"We already met these new Belarusians in the Bosch room. Just as I started talking about the deadly sins, I saw two more guys disconnected from their audio guides and listening to us. And they say: 'Oh, we hear Belarusian, and we are Belarusians too!' And now there are five of us," —
Monich continues.
"You see, even some musician (…), still does a good deed by having Belarusians meet around art and get acquainted with this very art. Isn't it a miracle? It's a miracle," — Monich shares his emotions and urges:
— "Look for each other and, if possible, do it in pleasant cultural places, for example, in a museum, because a museum is cool."
