Minsk resident took out a real loan to repay a non-existent one and lost 30,000 rubles
First, an unknown person called the man pretending to be an intercom service employee and, under the pretext of replacing a chip, tricked him into revealing an SMS code.
Then, a fake mobile operator representative contacted the victim and stated that a loan had been issued in the applicant's name, which needed to be repaid immediately, according to the capital's police.
Next, fake employees of the State Control Committee and the National Bank contacted the applicant, intimidating and threatening him.
The man got scared and took out a loan of 30,000 rubles from the bank. He handed the money to a stranger on the street, believing that he was a courier from the National Bank.
