This story resembles a movie plot: a Minsk resident lived with a man for four years, gave birth to his son, and didn't even suspect that her beloved was using a fictitious name. The truth was revealed only when the family began to be blackmailed by unknown persons, writes BelTA.
It all began beautifully – in 2018, the couple met on a dating site. They moved in together, and soon a son was born to them. In 2022, feelings cooled, and the couple separated.
It all could have ended there, but after losing all his money on slot machines, the man decided to profit from his ex. He begged the woman for help and cried that his life was in danger.
Then the woman began receiving messages from third parties demanding the money back. Unknown persons threatened her and her small child with violence. Frightened, the woman ran to the police asking for protection for herself and her ex.
When the police began to investigate the case, it turned out that all the terrible messages from third parties were written by the man himself.
It turned out that before contacting the police, the 39-year-old woman did not know the true passport details of the child's father. In the birth certificate, the child's father was recorded according to her words. But his real name on his passport was completely different.
Thus, from December 2023 to March 2024, the gambling addict managed to swindle more than 8,000 rubles from the woman, which he immediately gambled away at the casino.
He was given 1 year of restricted freedom (home arrest) and fined 4,500 rubles. The verdict has already come into force.
