Clashes between football fans and police across France led to more than 400 arrests after Paris Saint-Germain's victory in the Champions League final over London's "Arsenal," writes the BBC.
Thousands of law enforcement officers were deployed to contain the disturbances, which disrupted bus, train, and suburban transport services in Paris. Fans launched fireworks and flares.
In the city center, police used tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Fans burned cars, bicycles, trash cans, smashed shop windows, and also threw pyrotechnics and firecrackers at police officers.
The French Interior Ministry stated that by early Sunday morning, 416 people had been arrested, 280 of them in Paris.
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez reported that seven police officers were injured and called the disturbances "absolutely unacceptable."
As expected, on Sunday afternoon, PSG players will take part in a victory parade, which includes a procession along the Champ de Mars near the Eiffel Tower and a reception organized by French President Emmanuel Macron.
