"On the found fragments, the Cyrillic inscription "Geran-2" was identified, and the analyzed electronic components, navigation systems, control units, engine, and structural elements show similarities, up to identity, with other "Geran-2" drones previously found on the territory of Romania and confidently identified as manufactured in the Russian Federation.
The report also notes that the factory marking, technical inscriptions, structural characteristics, and materials used correspond to the same technological process found in "Geran-2" drones analyzed in recent years," Nicușor Dan wrote on X.

"The fact that a similar device hit a residential building in Romania, causing injuries and material damage, is particularly serious, and the sole responsible party is Russia," he added.
Vladimir Putin previously stated that there was insufficient evidence of Russia's involvement in the incident. He also suggested that the drone might have been Ukrainian and offered to transfer its fragments for investigation to Russia.
Russia began using "Geran" drones to attack Ukraine in the autumn of 2022.
