Belarusian Reaches Semifinal of Russian "The Voice"

Ksenia Aksyutsik from Brest is participating in the Russian "The Voice" and has come close to victory. Recently, she sang Irina Dubtsova's song "O nyom" (About Him) on the project's stage and made it to the semifinal.

Ksenia is 26 years old; she was born and grew up in Brest. The girl says on social media that she has been performing on stage for over 10 years. In 2022, she moved from Brest to Minsk and is now building her career in the capital; in the same year, Ksenia got married.

The girl is a former vocalist of the Muzzart Band and also a soloist of the Classic Energy symphonic orchestra – it seems, also a former one. That orchestra was once capable of gathering thousands of listeners in "Minsk-Arena," but its Instagram has not been updated for over a year, and the project's website no longer exists.

Ksenia has been a fan of "The Voice" since she was 12-13 years old, when she sang at an amateur level in clubs, and now she decided to participate in the show. For the blind auditions, she performed AC/DC's song "Highway to Hell," received a "yes" from all four coaches, and joined Vladimir Presnyakov's team.

Next, the girl sang "Dancing Queen" by ABBA and the Soviet hit "Zvenit yanvarskaya zavirukha" (The January Blizzard Rings). In the quarterfinal, Ksenia performed the song "O nyom" (About Him) by Russian singer Irina Dubtsova and advanced to the semifinal, where she will perform in a few days.

Aksyutsik is not the only Belarusian participating in this season of "The Voice." In the quarterfinal, 18-year-old Zlata Barzdova from Mogilev was eliminated from the project. Yevgeny Verenich lasted even less time on "The Voice." Verenich, who is now 32 years old, was born in Luninets, received an education as a music teacher, and sang in a large symphony orchestra, but now works at a meat processing plant in Moscow.
