What does it look like?

Entrance #2 in house #105 on Rakasouskaha Avenue in Serabranka was recognized as the best in the Leninsky district, and it took second place in the city's housing and communal services competition. Minsk-news showed what it looks like.
This is a nine-story building constructed in 1972. It has 483 apartments. In 2024, after a major overhaul of the building, the entrance underwent a planned renovation. The residents themselves handled the renovation of the entrance — they ordered services and hired contractors.
Unusual for such houses, tiles were laid here. They cover the floor from the entrance to the elevator, the steps on the first floor, the inter-floor landings, as well as separate wall sections — in the vestibule and near the elevator.

— We bought the tiles ourselves during sales, — said resident and main renovation initiator Nelly Babkova. — Also, some residents had leftover tiles from other works. We tried to make the painted and tiled surfaces harmonize well. The other materials — plaster, paint, primer — were purchased by the workers, who then submitted receipts.

Some work was performed by the residents themselves. For example, they tiled the walls themselves. In addition, the mailboxes in the entrance were replaced, and a mirror was hung in the elevator.

According to the estimate calculated by the Housing Maintenance and Repair Organization (ZHEU), the renovation of the entrance would have cost approximately 15,000 rubles. And this is without taking into account the costs of purchasing and laying tiles, as well as other additional works, but with significant overhead costs.

The residents, who undertook the renovation themselves, managed to spend 14,300 rubles. Moreover, the amount was not divided proportionally to the area of living spaces, as housing services practice, but equally among 52 apartments — 275 rubles from each.
