Hrodna Airport Promised to Open This Winter. Where Can Flights Go?
At Hrodna airport, the runway renovation has been completed, and preparations are underway to install new navigation equipment.
Tenders for the purchase of navigation equipment have already been held, and it is expected to be delivered in autumn. After installation, technical issues will need to be resolved and the system put into operation.
"I am confident that the airport will open this upcoming winter. The task is to attract operators and airlines for whom it will be economically feasible to fly to Hrodna," said Andrei Khmel, Chairman of the Hrodna City Executive Committee.
Currently, regular routes and carriers have not been determined. Authorities are considering flights to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kaliningrad. In the future, charter flights to resorts may also be launched from Hrodna.
