A Belarusian woman transferred 60,000 euros to a "German musician" 6 years ago and only now contacted the police
Back in 2020, the woman gave a huge sum to a supposed violinist from Germany. Even when communication between them stopped, she didn't realize anything was wrong.

A resident of Gomel region transferred about 60,000 euros six years ago to a German "musician" with whom she started a romantic relationship online, and only this year decided to contact the police, BelTA writes.
Back in May 2020, a stranger messaged her on Instagram, introducing himself as a German violinist-musician whose work she admired. A romantic correspondence ensued. The interlocutor convinced the woman to help him financially, claiming he had legal problems. In the summer of the same year, the woman transferred over 4,000 euros to help with "legal proceedings."
The communication continued. At some point, the "musician" informed her that he had sent the woman a package with money — according to him, it contained three million dollars.
To receive the postal shipment, in the autumn of 2020, the woman made several transfers totaling over 55,000 euros.
At this point, communication stopped.
"In 2026, the victim decided to contact law enforcement agencies because she heard about a similar type of fraud in the mass media," the police said.
They emphasized that fraudulent schemes disguised as romantic relationships are becoming popular again.
