The Belarusian market for new passenger cars in July 2026 once again showed significant growth after a decline in June. Approximately 9.6 thousand new cars were sold in the country during the month — 30% more than in June, and 18.5% more than the May figure. This was reported by the Belarusian Automobile Association (BAA).

The association noted that the July results exceeded expectations: after a temporary decline, sales not only recovered but also reached the highest monthly level in 2026.
The main growth factors were Belarusian-made cars and an increase in electric vehicle sales.
The 'BelGee' enterprise sold 5.3 thousand cars of the Belgee and Geely brands in July, setting a new record for the entire history of the plant's sales. These two brands accounted for more than 55% of the total new passenger car market in Belarus.
The second Belarusian manufacturer — 'Unison' — sold 596 cars, making up about 6.2% of the market. As a result, vehicles produced by the two Belarusian car factories occupied more than 61% of the July new car market.
The electric vehicle segment grew particularly strongly. In July, approximately 3.5 thousand new electric cars were sold in Belarus, which is 46% more than the previous month. Their market share was approximately 36.5%. The growth is attributed to active imports of electric vehicles and the preservation of preferential conditions for their purchase.
The BAA believes that by the end of 2026, the Belarusian new car market could surpass the mark of 70 thousand vehicles sold and set a historical record.
Experts note that the growth is supported by the expansion of car lending, low prices for electric vehicles, and increased demand for them ahead of the possible termination of preferential import conditions. Meanwhile, the share of cars imported from Russia is gradually decreasing, as are sales of imported hybrid models.
