In the Barysaŭ District, a 79-year-old pensioner tried to burn down a house with her grandson and his girlfriend
The grandmother considered the girl a bad match for her grandson.
In the village of Kimiya, Barysaŭ District, a 79-year-old woman attempted to set fire to a house — she didn't approve of her grandson's choice, writes "Minskaya Praŭda".
According to the Investigative Committee (SK), on the night of July 28, the elderly woman, unhappy with her grandson's relationship with a local resident, came to the girl's house and broke a window pane with a log. A neighbor then calmed her down, and the pensioner left.
However, later, when the young couple returned and were watching TV, the grandmother came back, poured flammable liquid into the room through the broken window, and set it on fire.
The house with the young people did not burn down because the guy and the girl were not yet asleep and managed to quickly put out the fire.
The woman has been detained and does not deny her guilt.
It turned out that she had a previous conviction for arson.
A criminal case has been initiated against the pensioner for attempted deliberate destruction of property; she faces up to 10 years of imprisonment.
