Belarusian woman outraged by apartment rental price in Baranovichi and complained to the House of Representatives
A Belarusian woman was asked almost as much for a regular apartment as she paid for housing in Minsk, writes BGmedia.

Another discussion about housing rental prices flared up on social media after an emotional post by a Belarusian woman who was looking for an apartment in Baranovichi. The woman said she found an option for 900 rubles a month, but after the owner learned about the presence of a child and a cat, the rent increased by approximately another 100 dollars.
According to the author, what surprised her most was not the price itself, but the fact that it was about Baranovichi, not the capital.
"I found an apartment for 900 rubles. Because of a child and a cat, the price increased by another 100 dollars. Well, Baranovichi, don't forget you're Baranovichi. In Minsk, I rented a two-room apartment for 1,200 rubles with two cats and a child."
The woman criticized the situation in the rental market, noting that affordable housing is becoming scarcer, and families with children and pets often face additional restrictions.
The publication quickly gathered dozens of comments. Many users admitted that they also consider the rental price in Baranovichi to be unreasonably high.
"420 dollars in Baranovichi? Haha. Did a lagoon of formaldehydes get released into the air there, or what's with such a surge?"

Some commentators also wondered why the rental market is practically unregulated.

Later, the woman announced that she decided not to limit herself to online discussions and sent an official appeal to the House of Representatives.
According to her, the problem lies not so much in the rental price itself, but in the inconsistency of prices with the city's standard of living. The author expressed hope that her initiative would be supported by other tenants who, in their opinion, face speculative pricing.
