Chagall's painting "The Walk" to remain in Belarus until October: Turchyn agreed with Mishustin on exhibition extension

Marc Chagall's famous painting "The Walk" will be exhibited at the National Art Museum of Belarus longer than planned.

The exhibition, which was supposed to conclude on July 6, has been extended until October following agreements between Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchyn and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This was reported by the museum's press service.

Belarus had to negotiate at the highest level, as the painting is part of the collection of the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. "The Walk" was brought to Minsk for a temporary display on April 8 as part of the Russian Museum days.

This visit of "The Walk" to Belarus is its first.

Chagall's other famous Vitebsk canvas — "Over the Town" — is kept at the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
