"He said he would cast a curse!" Internet psychic forced Minsk resident to commit theft
A 69-year-old pensioner contacted the police, reporting that jewelry had disappeared from her apartment, and money, including her pension, had been debited from her bank card.
Criminal investigation officers of the Frunzensky District Department of Internal Affairs established that the theft was committed by a 44-year-old resident of Minsk who was caring for the victim.
The woman admitted her guilt and stated that she allegedly committed the crime under the influence of a "psychic."
In a social network, the Minsk resident found a so-called clairvoyant, to whom she turned for help with personal issues.
However, instead of support, the "psychic" began to demand money, claiming that she was under a curse. The stranger threatened "negative consequences" if she did not follow his instructions and pay for his "services."
Under this pressure, the woman committed theft: she stole money and jewelry from her ward, which she then pawned. The funds received — about 7,000 rubles — she transferred to the man's account.
