In the footage, the crab crawls on the sand while people are relaxing and swimming nearby. According to one comment, it is likely a rainbow crab that someone bought as a pet but later released into the reservoir, unable to provide proper care.
Users note that similar incidents happen with red-eared sliders, which are also often released into Belarusian reservoirs.
Many commentators expressed regret that it would be very difficult for such an animal to survive in fresh water. Some hope that the crab was taken by people and placed in more suitable conditions for it.
