Mercedes Sought in Poland, Attempted to be Smuggled into Belarus

At the border crossing in Terespol, Polish border guards detained a 2024 Mercedes car that was wanted in Poland, the Polish Border Guard Service reported .

A 53-year-old Polish citizen attempted to exit Poland into Belarus in this car. During the inspection, officers of the Nadbużański Border Guard Division determined that the car was reported stolen and was in the wanted vehicle database.

The value of the car is estimated at approximately 300,000 zlotys (about 81.8 thousand dollars).

An investigation was launched into the incident. The driver, along with the car, was handed over to police officers in Terespol for further investigation.

According to the Polish Border Guard Service, since the beginning of 2026, 66 wanted vehicles have already been discovered and recovered at the Polish border. Their total value exceeds 7 million zlotys (approximately 1.91 million dollars).
