Apartment of former «Pesnyary» pianist for sale in Minsk. Interiors impress PHOTOS
The house is truly elite — Kolya Lukashenka's grandfather used to live here. And now, on the list of potential neighbors, you can find former hockey player Dmitry Mialeshka.
An unusual apartment has been put up for sale in Minsk. The five-room apartment is located in a good area — at Chekhova, 3, next to the Glinka Music College. Masherov Avenue and the Stella are nearby. The house was built in 2002. It stands in a closed block, accessible only to residents. In the courtyard — a large parking lot, a children's playground, a recreation area. In short, the quiet center as it is.
The sales advertisement states that the apartment has a musical history. And intrigue is added by the phrase: «You will touch a wonderful world that has become part of our civilization, the world of a now Hollywood composer, and formerly a pianist and arranger of the «Pesnyary» ensemble.»
The name is not mentioned. But it's not so difficult to figure out. We are talking about Valer Halauko, who after emigrating to the USA took the name Larry Halauko.
Valer was born in Gomel. In the 1980s, he worked as a pianist and arranger for the legendary «Pesnyary».
In an interview, the man once complained that he was not realized as a composer in «Pesnyary». He wasn't interested in playing or arranging — but money was needed.
As a result, he abandoned creative work, moved to the USA, and engaged in business. What motivated him to return to the piano was a tragedy — the man and his wife were in an accident, she died, and Valer recovered in the hospital for a long time. And it was during this time that he started writing music again.
On his website, Halauko writes that he is one of nine composers who received a «genius visa» in the USA and the status of extraordinary abilities in Arts and Sciences.
But his fame is exaggerated. It is difficult to find information in American media about Halauko's participation in any major Hollywood projects.
In Belarus, however, the composer is not forgotten. Halauko's music was featured, for example, in the film «Dnieper Frontier». He had concerts in the Palace of the Republic with the Presidential Orchestra and stars of national pop music.
On STB, the composer said: «I never severed ties with Belarus. I had a contract with a Hollywood label from 2001 to 2017. But during the years of most intensive work in the States, I released three huge Slavic programs in Minsk. During the same period, three of my children were born in Minsk. So, my connections with Belarus have always been more than close. I have not severed relations with the country that raised me. I intend to live here until the end of my days, because Belarus is the best place to live.»
But Halauko decided to sell the elite real estate in Minsk.
The total area of the five-room apartment is about 235 square meters. The size of the kitchen here is larger than the area of studios somewhere in «Minsk World» — 30 square meters. The living room is 40 square meters.
The rooms feature once-fashionable pink wardrobes, bright tiles, and oddly shaped walls.
The advertisement states that all materials, furniture, and appliances are exclusively elite.
There are three bedrooms and a study, three bathrooms and two dressing rooms — one for clothes, and the other for shoes. A parking space is also included as a bonus.
The agency «Malnar», which is selling the apartment, even made a video review. In it, «Agent Ryan» — a Belarusian in a kilt who calls himself a Scotsman — praises the dwelling.
«Agent Ryan» particularly emphasizes the Steinway grand piano:
— One can only imagine what brilliant music was played on this grand piano. Probably, an intellectual lived in this house, who played chess after a long day's work. And here is confirmation of my guesses: a library with rare, collectible editions.
However, at this moment, the «Scotsman» holds the scandalous novel by Sergey Minaev, «Dukhless».
They are asking $899,000 for the «Hollywood composer's» apartment. It has been for sale since April 2025, but so far without success.

За 800к + евро пусть он сам катается на самокате по своим апартаментам, словно по стадиону - без окон и дверей.
За эти деньги я лучше куплю жилье подостойней на Лазурке в Ницце на Английской набережной, чем в унылом и несвободном Минске, да ещё и по такой цене.
P.S. В цену квартиры ещё включил, наверняка, имя, но оно для меня никакого значения не имеет.
Если бы я покупал скрипку Страдивари в личную коллекцию, то это - другое дело.
