Belstat Published Statistical Portraits of Belarusian Fathers and Mothers
From October 14 to 21, Belarus annually celebrates Parents' Love Week, which combines Mother's Day on October 14 and Father's Day on October 21. On this occasion, Belstat published statistical portraits of the most typical mothers and fathers in Belarus.

The average Belarusian mother has Belarusian citizenship, is married, lives in a city, and raises two children. She usually has a higher or secondary specialized education and works in trade or education.

As of January 1, 2026, 4.0451 million women aged 18 and over lived in Belarus — 55.1% of the adult population. Men in this age group numbered 3.2947 million, or 44.9%.
Among people aged 18 to 39, there were 1016 men for every thousand women. In the group aged 40 and older, there were only 730 men for every thousand women.
At the beginning of 2026, 2.0889 million women aged 15 to 49 (reproductive age) were living in the country, which accounted for 42.8% of all women in the country. Of these, 84% lived in cities.
In 2025, the average age of mothers at childbirth was 30.5 years, and at the birth of their first child — 27.6 years. First-born children accounted for 40% of all births, second-born — 34%, and third and subsequent children — 26%. As a result of in vitro fertilization, 1610 women became mothers.
In 2025, slightly over 52 thousand marriages were registered in Belarus. 61.6% of women got married for the first time, with their average age being 26.7 years. Another 38.4% of women remarried, with their average age being 40.5 years.
Among men, 65% married for the first time, and their average age at first marriage was 29 years. 35% of men remarried, with their average age being 43.4 years.
According to the 2019 population census, there were 2,612,413 families in Belarus. In 43.7% of them, there were children under 18 years of age. Among families with minor children, 57.3% raised one child, 33.5% raised two, and 9.2% raised three or more.
