Donald Trump claimed a supposedly reached agreement with Vladimir Putin, according to which Russia is to supply over 300 thousand tons of diesel fuel to the American and world markets immediately, another 500 thousand tons — during November, and then another million tons.

Additionally, according to the US President, considering the state of Russian oil refineries, Russia will soon supply another three million tons of diesel fuel.
Trump wrote about this on the Truth Social network after, according to his claim, he completed "extremely successful negotiations" with the Russian president.

The American leader also stated that diesel fuel prices would soon begin to fall "at a record pace." He linked this to the US allegedly fully controlling the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the agreement on Russian energy supplies. At the end of the message, Trump emphasized that Iran would not acquire nuclear weapons.
On September 28, Vladimir Putin restricted the publication of data on Russian oil refineries and fuel exports. On September 30, the Russian government extended the ban on diesel fuel exports. Restrictions on gasoline exports also remain in effect.
The bans are related to a fuel shortage in the domestic Russian market. This arose, in particular, due to damage to Russian oil refineries as a result of Ukrainian strikes.
On October 5, Trump stated that rising gasoline prices in the US are caused by Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, as well as the closure of such facilities in states governed by Democrats.
