PHOTOS: Soviet Dispatch Station Near Minsk's Friendship of Peoples Park Demolished
At the intersection of Kulman and Lili Karastayanava streets, the demolition of a Soviet bus station has begun, but builders have only dismantled half of the building. Excavators destroyed the veterinary clinic in just a few days, while the adjacent wing with a cafe remains untouched for now. The establishment continues to operate right amidst the noise of heavy machinery, writes Domovita.by.

Now this area is undergoing a large-scale modernization due to the extension of the road towards the "Northern Coast" residential complex, which requires a new transport artery.
Veterinary Clinic Demolished to Foundations, Cafe Untouched
On the site near the intersection of Kulman and Lili Karastayanava streets, the noise of construction machinery can be heard. Of the wing where the veterinary clinic operated, only a pile of broken bricks and debris remains. An excavator is working on the site, slowly clearing the rubble with its bucket.

Meanwhile, the adjacent part of the building looks completely untouched. The Coffee Everyday cafe still welcomes visitors, although a technical break was introduced after noon. By the way, this is a rare case for the capital: during public discussions, residents of the area were so actively advocating for the preservation of the establishment that the project was reviewed, and they decided not to demolish the entire building.

Immediately behind the cafe's wall, outdoor work continues. Builders are compacting the gravel base for new asphalt. A new turnaround loop for city buses and trolleybuses will be built here.

Road to "Northern Coast" and a New Dispatch Station of 370 Square Meters
All these changes are related to the development of infrastructure in the north of the capital. Lili Karastayanava street is being extended directly to the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) to connect the new "Northern Coast" residential complex with the city center. The old "Karastayanava" dispatch station found itself directly in the path of the future highway, so it had to be eliminated.
Another location was quickly found instead. It was decided to return the new transport hub to Kulman street — precisely where a dispatch station already operated during Soviet times, before the area was occupied by a parking lot, a veterinary clinic, and public catering establishments. Now everything is returning to its former state: the parking lot has been closed, the old building partially dismantled, and a new "Kulman" dispatch station for "Minsktrans" is being built on the vacated site.

The new single-story building will have an area of about 370 square meters. Inside, there will be a waiting room with 30 seats, ticket offices, automatic luggage lockers, and a first-aid post. A buffet with 20 seats will be opened for passengers and staff, and a separate lounge will be equipped for drivers.

What Will Happen to Parking and How Transport Routes Will Change
The issue with the closed parking lot has also been resolved. An alternative parking area will be arranged nearby for local motorists. The site will become available after energy services complete the modernization of the "Starazhoŭskaya" substation.

With the opening of the new station, public transport routes will also change. Trolleybuses № 22, 40, and 40A will travel to the "Kulman" dispatch station via Krapotkina, Vera Kharuzhaya, Shevchenko Boulevard, and Kakhouskaya streets. Thus, traffic will be restored in both directions.
Buses № 44 and 136 will be directed to the new transport hub via Nekrasava and Lili Karastayanava streets. For routes №19, 68, 105, 105D, and 131, the final stop for passenger disembarkation will be moved from Friendship of Peoples Park directly to the new station.
