Ihar Sidaruk's Book "In the Jaws of the Black Moon" Has Been Released
The "Brukavanka" book series has been replenished with a new book by Ihar Sidaruk, one of the most independent and unpredictable authors of the Belarusian literary underground, "In the Jaws of the Black Moon," writes bellit.info.

It's impossible to confine Ihar Sidaruk within the bounds of a single aesthetic for long. He can be a lyric poet, a playwright, an author of black burlesque, and a creator of "absurdelkas," yet behind all these masks, a recognizable voice remains—sharp, ironic, and painfully sensitive.
In his poems, plays, and the "absurdelkas" he invented, the writer seems to encrypt messages for descendants who might be able to understand the logic of an era that has lost all logic better than us. You can read more about the book "In the Jaws of the Black Moon" in a detailed review on the "New Belarusian Books" website.
The publication of the book in "Brukavanka" brings back into the current literary space not only an individual poet but also an important part of the history of independent Belarusian culture.
Because without authors like Ihar Sidaruk, it's impossible to see the full panorama of Belarusian literature of recent decades—literature that existed not only in official publishing houses and curricula but also in almanacs, small-circulation magazines, theatrical experiments, and books from underground publishers.
