In Astravets, a 35-year-old chief accountant of one of the state organizations was detained. For six months, she systematically embezzled budget funds.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the woman used several schemes. She redirected the institution's money to her own bank card under the guise of purchasing household goods and paying for services, entering false information into reporting documentation. Part of the cash received by the organization, the accountant simply did not process through the cash register and credited to her personal account.
The total amount of damage caused exceeded 100 thousand rubles.
The woman spent the stolen funds on bets in an online casino.
A criminal case has been initiated for embezzlement through abuse of official powers on a particularly large scale. She faces up to 12 years in prison.
