Moldovan man tried to smuggle a woman out of Belarus, hiding her in a mattress
A 34-year-old citizen of Moldova, who was traveling to Germany in an Audi car through the Bruzgi border crossing point, tried to illegally smuggle a woman by hiding her in an inflatable mattress, the State Customs Committee reports .
The man's behavior during questioning in the "red corridor" aroused suspicion among Grodno customs officers. Therefore, the car was sent for an additional inspection using scanning equipment.
During the check, it was discovered that a person was hidden inside the inflatable mattress located in the car.
The young people admitted that they resorted to such a step because the woman did not have a passport to travel abroad.
As the situation showed signs of a crime under Article 371-1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus, the materials were transferred to the border guard authorities for further investigation.
