Strange Cyrillic graffiti appeared in Spanish Valencia. A Belarusian explained to locals what they mean

For several months now, graffiti with the inscription KLADIK has been appearing on the walls of buildings in various districts of Spanish Valencia, accompanied by Cyrillic words — «кокс» (coke) and «меф» (mephedrone), as well as an internet website address. For most local residents, these inscriptions look like ordinary graffiti, but people with knowledge of the Russian language immediately recognize them as advertisements for the sale of cocaine and mephedrone, writes Las Provincias newspaper.

According to open data, the internet domain indicated on the graffiti was registered on March 12, 2026 – around the same time when the first such inscriptions began to appear in Valencia. Currently, this domain is up for sale, which may indicate that the system has not yet started operating in the city. According to registration data, the website was created in Ukraine. The National Police of Spain stated that they do not yet have information about the operation of such a scheme in Valencia.

The appearance of the graffiti sparked discussion on internet forums, especially among people from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia. It was they who first noticed that the inscriptions correspond to a well-known drug advertising system in Eastern European countries. It is designed in such a way that the seller and buyer never meet in person.

A Belarusian, who has been living in Valencia for about five years, told journalists that similar inscriptions have long been a common sight in Minsk. According to him, upon seeing the first such graffiti in Valencia, he felt shame and became afraid that such activities could negatively affect the attitude towards Eastern Slavic communities in Spain.

The distribution method according to this scheme is called "закладкі" (stashes/drops). It resembles a delivery service. The buyer follows the link indicated on the graffiti or uses a bot in Telegram, chooses the desired substance, pays for it with cryptocurrency, and receives a photo of the stash along with precise GPS coordinates. After that, they pick up the package themselves.

Drugs are hidden in advance in parks, gardens, or other public places, where the buyer later finds them.

The organization of this scheme has a clear structure. At the top level are the organizers, below them are warehouses where drugs are packaged into small doses. After this, the so-called "закладчыкі" (droppers/stashing agents) place the packages in pre-selected locations. A separate role is played by people who apply the advertising inscriptions to walls. They are hired via Telegram, promised easy money, or paid with small sums of money or the drugs themselves. Within such organizations, these исполнители (performers/executors) are called "мясам" (meat), emphasizing their easy replaceability.

The inscriptions "кокс" (coke) and "меф" (mephedrone) mean cocaine and mephedrone, respectively. The latter is a synthetic narcotic substance, banned in the European Union since 2010 due to high health risks and rapid development of addiction. It causes short-term euphoria, enhances feelings of alertness and sociability, but can also lead to tachycardia, increased blood pressure, anxiety, paranoia, and strong drug dependence.
