For the anniversary of the great popular uprising of 2020, Vilnius will host a march with drummers, a run, and a concert
The events will start on Saturday, August 8.
At 2 PM on Saturday, there will be a guided tour of Vilnius "Belarusian Women of Freedom". It starts at Lukiškės Square near the cross to the insurgents.
Sunday, August 9
10:30 — Prayer for Belarus at the Belarusian Orthodox Parish (Bokšto g. 4).
12:00 — Art exhibition for the Day of Belarusian Dignity at Cathedral Square. Professional artists and amateurs, former political prisoners and repressed Belarusian activists will present their works.
12:30 — Solidarity bike run — from Cathedral Square to the Alley of Belarusian Democracy on the bank opposite the Seimas and back to Cathedral Square.
13:00 — Rally at Cathedral Square.
14:00 — Freedom March from Cathedral Square to the Guard of Light near the Embassy of Belarus. Drummers from Rhythms of Resistance (ROR) will join the march.
15:00 — Moment of silence at the Guard of Light. At the Guard of Light, a moment of silence will be announced in memory of the victims of the dictatorial regime and the heroes who died defending the independence of Ukraine.
16:00 — Meeting with artist Volha Yakubouskaya at the Belarusian Castle. During the meeting, Volha will personally present her paintings to their heroes and heroines.
16:30 — Lecture about Larysa Hienijus at «Karčma 1863» (Bokšto g. 2).
18:00 — Acoustic concert by Yury Stylski at the Alaus Namai pub (Goštauto g. 8; ticket — 15 € cash).
