Iran called on Houthis to be ready to close the Bab al-Mandab Strait
According to reports from Reuters, Iran has asked its allies — the Yemeni Houthi movement — to be ready to block shipping through the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden, if the US strikes Iran's energy infrastructure. The agency reported this, citing three informed sources, including an Iranian leadership representative.

According to one source close to the Houthis, their formations have already deployed drones and missiles in the Bab al-Mandab Strait area and are on standby for possible attacks.
The same source claims that the final decision to close the strait will be made by representatives of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who, according to the source, are already present in Yemen.
On July 14, US President Donald Trump, announcing the resumption of the naval blockade of Iran, stated that the United States could strike bridges and power plants in the country within a week if Tehran does not return to negotiations.
