In Belarus, state regulation of prices for own-produced goods manufactured by catering facilities at retail chains will be expanded, reported Oleg Dikun, Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade.
The new rules will affect a number of popular goods, including bakery products, cut meat, chicken, and fish, as well as lightly salted fish produced directly in stores.
As explained by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, this decision was made following appeals from citizens. Shoppers pointed out that products manufactured by retail chains often cost significantly more than similar goods in manufacturers' brand stores.
According to the new norms, when selling such products through retail, the markup by catering facilities must not exceed 10%.
The corresponding changes to the system of state price regulation were approved by a government resolution dated July 10. The new requirements will come into force ten days after the official publication of the document.
