Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced his resignation.
"Today I conclude my mandate as Prime Minister. I accepted the offer to become Prime Minister with great responsibility and firm confidence that I could contribute to positive changes. The moment I realized that I could no longer fulfill my role in accordance with my principles and convictions, I decided to step down," Alexandru Munteanu wrote on social media on July 3.
He had been Prime Minister since November 2025.
The resignation comes against the backdrop of corruption scandals. For instance, on July 2, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture was detained on suspicion of bribery.
