On "Belarusfilm", among endless war films, a New Year's comedy will finally be shot
The national film studio "Belarusfilm", long and firmly associated with the production of cheap war dramas, is trying to fulfill Lukashenka's order and shoot "new living cinema".

As reported on CTV television channel by the general director of the film studio Dmitry Semenov, filming of a new New Year's picture is beginning at "Belarusfilm".
"Although we have such warm weather outside the window now, in the fifth pavilion of the film studio, we have a real winter. With Christmas trees, covered in snow," he said.
The hosts of the state television channel could not help but remind the director of the film studio's popular nickname — "Partisanfilm". In response, Dmitry Semenov assured that traditions are preserved, but the studio is confidently moving forward. However, as examples of this movement, he named the same military-historical projects. Just recently, filming of the movie "Vysota" (Height) was completed, which brought together filmmakers from seven CIS countries, and a large-scale project "Father Minay. Partisan Legend" is also nearing completion.

The attempt to dilute the monotonous military theme with a light genre began after last year, during a visit to "Belarusfilm", Alexander Lukashenka spoke quite harshly about the state of the industry. After this, the management was tasked with creating "their own cinema — honest and lively".
According to Dmitry Semenov, the film studio immediately began work. In particular, a script competition was held, to which, as the director claims, more than 250 works were submitted. In addition, a large public casting call for the new film was announced, which allegedly caused enormous excitement not only in all corners of Belarus, but also from abroad.
