A former serviceman, he wrote in Belarusian and Russian, and was a member of the Mogilev historical and patriotic search club and the Russian cultural and educational society.
Poet Alyaksandr Kazeka has passed away. He was 67 years old.
The writer was born on August 4, 1958, in the village of Novy Yuzin, Kirovsky district, into a forester's family. He studied at the Chachevichy rural school, then entered the Oryol Higher Military Communications School. He served in Oryol, Vladivostok, Bryansk, and Mogilev.
After being discharged from service, he worked as a teacher in the village of Chachevichy, then at the Mogilev Regional Philharmonic. After the closure of the philharmonic, he worked as deputy head of the Mogilev Regional Center for Culture and Art.
Kazeka was a member of the pro-government Union of Writers of Belarus and headed its Mogilev regional branch. He was a member of the public association "Russian Cultural and Educational Society" and the Mogilev regional historical and patriotic search club "Vikkru".
He wrote in Belarusian and Russian. His poetry books include "The Spring of My Soul" (2005), "Melody of Hope" (2008), "Time of Sowing" (2009), and others.
Kazeka received several state awards — the "For Impeccable Service" medals of the II and III degrees, and the Francysk Skaryna Medal.
