Belarusian Tour Operators Urgently Rerouting Bus Routes to Georgia — Travel Time Increases by 4-5 Hours

After a drone hit a tourist bus with Belarusians in the Bryansk region, Belarusian tourists started to panic. This is because the same route was typically used to transport people for holidays in Georgia. Tour operators are now offering a safer option.

Dmitry Milovanash, director of "Slavia Tour", was one of the first to speak about the changes on TikTok. His company sent tourists to Georgia via a new route last night:

— All our routes have been adjusted in accordance with the recommendations of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry. Already today, our bus returning from Georgia turned in a different direction after Voronezh. It detoured around the Bryansk region. And all our subsequent routes have also been adjusted and go through the Smolensk and Tula regions. Accordingly, they then reach Voronezh, and from there they take the M4 highway and travel along it to Verkhny Lars.

Dmitry noted that this increases the travel time by an average of 4-5 hours.

A "Nasha Niva" journalist, acting as a tourist, contacted several Belarusian tour operators, and they all confirmed that the route to Georgia had been urgently re-routed. Belarusians are now offered to travel through the Mogilev region to the Smolensk region.

For now, they say that this will not affect the price.
