For the duration of the 2026 World Cup, he will pay for pizza for all residents of his home village of Aage, located in the Dordogne department, writes Onliner.by.
The footballer personally came forward with this initiative, and the mayor of Aage shared the joyful news with the press.
The village population is only about 350 people. Now, every match involving the 'Tricolors' in Aage will be accompanied by a communal pizza feast.
The story of the defender's connection with the village is quite touching. At nine months old, the future player's family moved from Paris to the rural area of Dordogne. It was there, as the only child in the family, that Lacroix grew up and took his first steps in football, before heading to the 'Sochaux' club, and then conquering the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
The French national team started the tournament on June 16, defeating Senegal (3:1), but Lacroix did not play.
