"Ew, disgusting! Where can I buy them?" Belarusian designer invented earrings in the shape of ticks
Belarusian designer Lyosha Limonov recently invented, perhaps, the most frightening ornament for Belarusians, writes Onliner.by.
— I remember once seeing ticks on a dog: its fur was covered with them, like pearls. I decided to turn that impression into an idea. The tick reminded me of a pearl earring, like in Vermeer's painting, — Limonov said.
Perhaps the tick-earrings don't look all that horrible, especially from a distance. But the designer showed how they could look, for example, as dozens of ornaments on a bag or clothing.
"Everything started itching," "Both horrifying and beautiful at the same time," "Ew, disgusting! Where can I buy them?" — these are roughly the comments left under Lyosha's video.
It turned out that there were unexpectedly many admirers of such ugly fashion. Someone even suggested the brand name "tick" jewelry — Encephalit. But the designer says that, even despite the hype, he doesn't plan to set up production of the jewelry yet, although he doesn't rule out that a limited number of custom-made pieces might appear.
— Some projects I do just to show what's possible, I develop sketches and ideas using AI. Sometimes I make them physically if it's easy to produce. Today, singer Syuzanna wrote to me, saying: "I want earrings with ticks." So I don't know what to do now, — Limonov told an Onliner journalist.
Currently, the designer has put out a call for Belarusian jewelry makers to collaborate — if that's you or someone you know, write to Lyosha, perhaps together you can be the first in the world to turn a tick into something beautiful.
