In Hrodna, a restaurant director faked holidays for employees, took their holiday pay, and gambled it all away
In Hrodna, a 24-year-old fast-food restaurant director stole more than 11,000 rubles from the company, after which he lost it all in betting offices.
The guy came up with the scheme last autumn. He forged signatures on documents and, without the knowledge of his subordinates, arranged holidays for them. When the accounting department accrued holiday pay, the director told employees it was a mistake and asked them to transfer the money to his card.
To prevent anyone from suspecting anything, he continued to mark working hours for people in the timesheets.
When the money from the "holidays" became insufficient, the manager simply started taking the restaurant's daily earnings. The accounting department noticed this shortage during the very first audit.
During interrogation, the guy confessed to everything and explained that he had financial problems and hoped to win back on bets.
He has already returned the money in full, but this will not save him from trial for theft.
