A Belarusian paid for veneers for his girlfriend, and after breaking up, demanded the money back. What does the law say?

"I paid for my girlfriend's dental services (installation of veneers/implants) with my own funds. Can I get back what I spent after our relationship breaks up?" — a Belarusian told "Minskaya Prauda".
Raman Navoieu, a lawyer from the legal consultation office of the Central District of Gomel, noted: based on legislation, a Belarusian has the right to dispose of the funds belonging to him.
If the young man consciously and voluntarily made the decision and paid for his girlfriend's expenses, then that is his right. In such a situation, the expenses incurred by him are not subject to return through legal proceedings.
— Based on the described situation, the young man, obviously, understood that he had no obligations to pay for his girlfriend's dental services, and spent his money gratuitously, which deprives him of the right to reclaim the spent funds, — explained Raman Navoieu.
At the same time, the young man will be able to get his money back if he proves that the expenses were made under the influence of deception, fraud, violence, or threats. However, this is unlikely.
— Gifts that people give to each other during a relationship are also not subject to return. The law allows the donor to revoke the donation if the donee has attempted to take their life, the life of their family members or close relatives, or intentionally caused bodily harm to the donor. However, this rule does not apply to ordinary gifts whose value does not exceed twenty times the base amount, — concluded the lawyer.
