The murder occurred in February 2015.
At that time, the foreigners dealt with their compatriot in a rented apartment. One of the accused lived with the victim, but their relationship didn't work out — there were too many conflicts. So the man decided to kill his neighbor and flee; he sought help from acquaintances, the Prosecutor's Office reported.
On the night of February 17, the accused inflicted several blows with an axe and a knife to the victim's head and neck. After that, he let in the "accomplices" who were waiting in the stairwell and offered them to finish off the still-living victim. In turn, the second accused struck the man lying on the floor with at least two knife blows to the chest.
When he died, the criminals cleaned the apartment and the axe, and also collected all evidence. The body was wrapped in a blanket and a bag, taken out of the apartment, and left in the trunk. They drove the car to a public parking lot. The murder weapons and other items were discarded in a nearby area.
They left Belarus that same night. For a long time, they hid from the investigation abroad, but thanks to a search, they were eventually apprehended.
