Rozum.Media publishing house announced the release of the first Belarusian edition of the collection of poetic aphorisms «Dhammapada», the authorship of which is attributed to the founder of Buddhism, Buddha Shakyamuni.

The book was translated into Belarusian by poet and Buddhist Maks Shchur, according to a literal English interlinear translation with grammatical analysis of the original, available online in the NTU Digital Library of Buddhist Studies, writes bellit.info.
The «Dhammapada», written in Pali, is one of the most popular books of the Tipitaka — the Pali Canon of Buddhism. Passed down orally from generation to generation, Buddha's occasional poetic sayings reflect the main principles of his teaching and address timeless human themes such as old age, happiness, anger, greed, vice, virtue, and others.
This book is an attempt to convey in Belarusian ancient wisdom that, through centuries, continues to speak to people about pain, peace, fear, will, consciousness, and the path to inner balance.
The book can be purchased through the publishing house's website Rozum.media.
Previously, in 2012, «Dhammapada» was translated by Siarhei Kaleyeu, but the translation was not published as a separate book.
