It will be possible to document traffic accidents in a new way in Belarus starting next week
Starting October 15, it will be easier to process Europrotocols, said Igor Klepcha, General Director of the Belarusian Bureau for Transport Insurance, writes BelTA.
The possibility of documenting a traffic accident without calling the State Automobile Inspectorate has existed in Belarus for 16 years. To make this as simple as possible, a web application will become available from October 15, allowing accident reports to be filled out electronically from any mobile device running any operating system. It doesn't even need to be installed on the gadget.
"All this is absolutely free. And much faster than on paper. The electronic notification is intuitively very simple. While a paper one takes an average of 10-15 minutes, an electronic one can be filled out in three minutes," noted Igor Klepcha.
To fill out an electronic notification, both drivers must have phones with active subscriber numbers from Belarusian communication operators. At least one device must have a camera, internet access, and geolocation.
According to Igor Klepcha, only traffic accidents that occurred on the territory of Belarus with vehicles registered in our country and not deregistered can be processed. The date of filling out the electronic notification must match the date of the traffic accident.
A link to the web application will appear on the Belarusian Bureau for Transport Insurance website from October 15.
For consultations, the head of the Belarusian Bureau for Transport Insurance advised calling the call center at the short three-digit number 140. From October 15, its employees will remind users about the web application and advise on how to use it correctly.
