13-year-old boy crossing the road on an electric scooter was hit by a car

The accident occurred on the evening of October 14 on Zhukouski Street in Minsk.

The boy was riding along the sidewalks along Mahiliouskaya Street, and then entered a regulated pedestrian crossing on a green traffic light signal. At the same time, the schoolboy did not stop and did not dismount from the scooter. At that moment, a woman driving a Peugeot hit him, the State Automobile Inspectorate (SAI) reports.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminded that children under 14 years old are prohibited from operating personal mobility devices outside residential areas without adult supervision.

In addition, before crossing the roadway, PMD (Personal Mobility Device) riders are obliged to dismount from the vehicle and cross the road on foot, except in cases provided for by the Traffic Rules.
