In a Belarusian sanatorium, they are building a string passenger road: the foundation for the supports has been poured, and carriages have started to be assembled
In December last year, it became known that another string passenger road began to be built in Belarus. The "Sosny" sanatorium of Lukashenka's Presidential Affairs Department (located in Myadzel district on Lake Narach) was chosen as the project implementation site. The project involves the construction of a single-track line that will connect the residential building with a new spa complex. The route will pass through a pine forest, writes Blizko.by.
uST string transport is a public transport project in which unmanned electric vehicles move along a rail-string overpass installed on supports above the ground.
The company developing string transport is called CJSC "String Technologies". Engineer Anatol Yunitski has been promoting his idea since Soviet times. An ecotechnopark operates on the outskirts of Maryina Horka, where transport and infrastructure complexes are tested and demonstrated.
The first commercial line "Unilight" operates on the territory of the "Aquarelle" ecopark. The company also promotes its developments in the UAE, where an R&D center operates. In theory, string road carriages can reach speeds of several hundred kilometers per hour. However, such speeds have not yet been demonstrated in practice.
In August, the company announced that they had begun to erect foundations for the anchor and intermediate supports of the overpass. The process includes base preparation, concrete bedding arrangement, installation of rebar cages, and anchor bolts for the bases of metal columns.
The main horizontal load is transferred precisely to the anchor supports. Therefore, their foundations are massive underground reinforced concrete structures consisting of slab and wall parts.
Metal structures for anchor and intermediate supports are being sent to Belarus from the XinGuangZheng factory in Qingdao city, Shandong province (China). By the time they arrive at the construction site, all zero-cycle works will be completed, and builders will proceed with the installation of the power part of the overpass metal structures.
In July, work began on assembling the electric unmanned carriage, which the company calls a "unimobile". And yesterday, the company announced that they had started assembling the traction and passenger modules of the U5-54220-01 unimobile at the factory.
Currently, the suspension is being mounted in the traction module, as well as a number of systems: pneumatic, hydraulic, cooling, and air conditioning. For example, the climate system uses four high-voltage electric heaters with a total power of up to 11 kW, and heating can be flexibly adjusted to the outdoor temperature.
This U5-54220-01 is designed for quick and comfortable delivery of vacationers from the sanatorium's residential block to the new wellness center and back. The cabin, designed for six seated places, provides for the transportation of a wheelchair user.
