Far-right Polish politician posted a video of himself smashing a UPA monument with a hammer
Grzegorz Braun, leader of the far-right party "Konfederacja Korony Polskiej" (Confederation of the Polish Crown), damaged a UPA monument in the Polish village of Białystok, Lublin Voivodeship.

Braun posted a video of himself hitting the monument, where the names of Ukrainians are engraved on the stone.
He stated that this monument must be immediately demolished — something, he believes, the police or other services should have dealt with right after its unveiling.
"This obelisk, which offends the memory of the victims of the Ukrainian genocide against Poles, must be dismantled with professional equipment, which should be immediately brought here after documenting the crime of justifying Nazism and Banderism," Braun stated.

Last year, Braun was one of the candidates in the Polish presidential elections. He campaigned under the slogan "down with communism, down with Judeo-communism, down with Euro-communism." He advocated against the "Ukrainization of Poland," for the return of the death penalty, a ban on "LGBT ideology" propaganda, and the introduction of the concept of a "foreign agent" into Polish legislation.
The monument was erected in memory of Ukrainians who died in battles against the Soviet NKVD, writes "European Pravda". It was here in 1946 that the fallen Ukrainians were buried, so the monument is installed directly at the mass burial site.
The memorial site has been functioning since the 90s, and in its current form since 2019. The obelisk has been vandalized several times. In the summer of 2026, it was sprayed with paint from a can, and the arch that adorned the stone was also cut out. The Embassy of Ukraine then officially condemned this act of vandalism.
Recently, this monument already experienced another act of vandalism; the police are looking for those involved.
